The film Life City was made during a one month residency in Norra Tornen (the Northern Towers), a high profile high-rise in the newly developed Hagastaden-area in Stockholm. The residency was part of Josefin Jussi Andersson’s project “the Degentrification Office”, for which she invited artists to work with her on exploring and questioning ideas around progress and development in cities in general and Stockholm in particular. The film consists of 19 shots, 2:30 minutes each, depicting the area.

In addition to the film the residency resulted in a one-day relational event in and around Norra Tornen, created by me and Jussi and also featuring paintings and collages by Mikael Lo Presti. The event started with a city walk in Hagastaden lead by Jussi. We then watched my film in the cinema space in the basement of Norra Tornen, before proceeding to the apartment on the 16th floor where Mikael’s work was shown and a buffet was served.
